This full coverage, matte, long wearing concealer is just as good as Tarte Shape Tape without the high price tag.Happy Monday gals! I know, suspiciously upbeat for a Monday morning, but….it’s a short week, so the excitement of that fact runs through my veins. So if you’re on a budget or just prefer to spend your money elsewhere I highly recommend giving ELF Camo concealer a go. It’s as creamy as Tarte and as long wearing as Tarte. Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer is too watery, not enough pigment compared to Tarte Shape Tape but ELF on the other hand is as pigmented as Tarte. If these concealers were put in nondescript packaging I’d be hard pushed to tell the difference. I don’t have the same dryness problem with these concealers on the rest of my face. Both are long wearing and full coverage (you can sheer then out if you prefer). On my eyes both ELF and Tarte dry up too much and settle into my creases.Īs a face concealer Tarte and ELF are both brilliant. If you can use Tarte as an under eye concealer then ELF would absolutely work for you. I have the same issue with ELF as I do Tarte Shape Tape, I just can’t wear these as under eye concealers. Performance and coverage are almost identical.ĮLF Camo concealer in Fair Rose -top Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Light– bottom ELF Camo Concealer: The Tarte Shape Tape Concealer Dupeīoth Tarte and ELF concealers are fully pigmented, creamy and dry down to a matte formula. Another difference is the shade range Tarte Shape Tape concealer currently comes in 30 shades and ELF just 18. On comparison of the ingredients you can see that Tarte has much more skin-loving ingredients than ELF does and that’s reflected in the price. I reviewed some of the best ELF primers in this post and some are my absolute favourite like ELF Prime & Hydrate. The brand is affordable with great quality ingredients and is cruelty-free. I love ELF products both their makeup and skincare. However! I do think ELF 16 hr Camo Concealer is a much better dupe and given the price of Tarte I would absolutely recommend the ELF concealer over Tarte. And spoke about why I think Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define concealer is not a dupe for Tarte. I previously reviewed the much hyped Tarte Shape Tape Concealer here.
